Warfare and Welfare: Integrating Security Policy Into Socio-economic Policy

Starting from the premise that war is disastrous to human welfare and should not be used to settle international conflicts, argues that national security and socio-economic policies should be integrated as a means of securing peace. Proposes a social order based on a "welfare-cum- security" model, and discusses the policies needed to attain that order. Stresses the role of the United Nations in reducing international tensions.
