And, that culture should continue so long as we live is equally true. Hope. HOPE has been likened to an anchor; on the contrary, it would seem to be a whispering star; and to us a star of some magnitude, and always in the field of our vision. Basis of Opinion. THE average man's disinterested, honest opinion on questions of local finance, is usually located in his stomach or pocket. Failures. THE greatest failures of all known characters are they who have merited the fewest disinterested personal friends of real worth. Equipoise. A DOMINANT equipoise in the human brain is a condition seldom found in earnest life beyond middle age; and this is the penalty paid for an excess of concentrated thought.
