So the said amendment was agreed to.

Mr. Stephen F. Wilson, from the Committee on Enrolled Bills, reported that the committee had examined and found truly enrolled a bill of the following title, viz:

H. R. 1315. An act to amend an act entitled “An act to confirm certain private land claims in the Territory of New Mexico;" When The Speaker signed the same.

The Speaker, by unanimous consent, laid before the House execntire communications as follows, viz:

I. A letter from the Secretary of War, transmitting a letter from General Roberts, United States army, relative to waste lands on the Mississippi river; which was referred to the Committee on Commerce and ordered to be printed.

II. A letter from the same, transmitting report on the publication of documents relative to the rebellion; which was laid on the table and ordered to be printed.

III. A letter from the Secretary of the Treasury, in regard to printing extra copies of the report of the special commissioner for the collection of mining statistics; which was referred to the Committee on Printing.

IV. A letter from the Secretary of War, transmitting the petition of T. B. Manlove for removal of political disabilities; which was referred to the Committee on Reconstruction.

V. A letter from the Secretary of the Treasury, asking an appropriation of $10,000 to collect statistics on the mineral resources of the United States; which was referred to the Committee on Appropriations.

The question then recurring on the amendment of Mr. Shellabarger to the joint resolution of the Senate (S. R. 8) proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States,
