So it was ordered that when the House adjourns, it adjourn until Monday next.

The question then recurred on the motion of Mr. Hickman.
And being put, it was decided in the affirmative.

The House accordingly adjourned.

The Clerk having announced as the business first in order the motion submitted by Mr. Winslow, and pending when the House adjourned on Friday last, viz: that the House proceed to vote viva voce again for Speaker

On motion of Mr. Stanton, by unanimous consent,

Ordered, That the doorkeeper be directed to execute the seventeenth rule of the House of Representatives of the thirty-fifth Congress in regard to the privileges of the hall.

On motion of Mr. Reuben Davis, the roll was called; when it appeared that the following named members were absent, viz:

Mr. John Y. Brown, Mr. Clark B. Cochrane, and Mr. James A. Stallworth.

The demand for the previous question, on the motion of Mr. Winslow, was then seconded and the main question ordered, and under the operation thereof the said motion was agreed to.
