He was fucceeded by his fon, Pheron, by the name of Sefoftris II, whofe history favours more of fiction than truth. However, even fiction has its ufe; as it teacheth us that nothing can be too grofs for the belief of a bigotted people. Pheron performed nothing in the military way; but had the fame miffortune, as his father had, to be ftruck blind: which might be owing to fome infirmity derived from his parent.
