In cities, towns and villages which have or may hereafter adopt the act entitled "An act regulating the holding of elec tions, and declaring the result thereof in cities, villages and incorporated towns in this State," approved June 19, 1885, in force July 1, 1885, that act supersedes the general registry and election laws, when in conflict with that act; but when not inconsistent or in conflict with the provisions of that act, these acts continue in force and are applicable to such cities, towns and vil lages the same as if that act had not been adopted.-Section 15 of the act of 1885, the title of which is recited above. The cities of Chicago and East St. Louis have adopted the law of 1885. |
