Strana 10 - This year of 1916-17 is the first during which the department has been conducted on the basis of a $5,000 appropriation for the twelve months. The staff, therefore, was reduced to six people who had become experienced in the work, and every effort was made to co-ordinate the work for efficiency and speed.
