equable intonation, not quite free from manner; but in the more impassioned parts she became proportionably natural, bold, and varied. In comedy, Miss O'Neill did not, in our judgment, excel; her forte was the serious. Had we never seen her play anything but Lady Teazle, we should not have felt the regret at parting with her which we now do, in common with every lover of genius and of the genuine drama.
