Remarks.

The Isle of Man having got into the possession of the Stanleys, Earls
of Derby, passed into the hands of the Murrays, Dukes of Athol,
who ultimately disposed of their sovereign rights over the island
in favour of the Royal Family of England. The Channel Islands
have been annexed to England ever since the Norman Conquest.
