Advertisements must be sent to the Office before 5 p.m. on Monday, and in any urgent case of a short Advertisement not later than 11 a.m. on Tuesday, and payment made at the time, on the following scale :

On an average three words may be reckoned for the first line, and eight words for each line afterwards, the address counting as part of the Advertisement; but all Advertisements are charged according to space occupied.

Notices of Testimonials, Births, Marriages, and Deaths are inserted at 3s. 6d. each for two lines, and a shilling for every additional line. All Letters respecting Advertisements and Subscriptions should be addressed "The Publisher," Guardian Office, 5, Burleigh-street, Strand, W.C. Money and Postal Orders payable to JOHN JAMES, on the Post-office, 369, Strand, as well as cheques, should be crossed "London and County Bank." Postage stamps can only be received at the rate of thirteen to the Shilling. If a receipt is required for a sum under seven shillings, a stamped envelope must be enclosed.
