Rhode Island.-Elisha Bucklin reappointed State Auditor and Insurance Commissioner, vice William C. Townsend.

Kentucky.-License fee for industrial life agents reduced from $10 to $2 a year.

Henry B. Stokes was elected president of the Manhattan Life Insurance Company June 10 to fill the vacancy caused by the death of James M. McLean ; J. L. Halsey, vice-president; H. Y. Wemple, second vice-president; assistant secretary Frazee promoted to be secretary.

In the table "Tabulated Results of American Life Companies," pages 354-5, there is a typographical error in the premium receipts of the Equitable Life Society. The total premiums should be $232,416,334. The total income is correctly printed in the table, as is also the aggregate of premiums of all companies.
