The purpose of the first part of the book is to define and examine the assumptions implicit in the view of divorce mediation expressed in this book, as well as to question some of those that inform mediation practice, as well as adversarial practice. The second is to take the practitioner through a complete mediation, and while intended for the experience mediator as well as for the beginner, it nevertheless assumes that the practitioner is about to conduct his first mediation.
