entitled 'of the supreme court,' are hereby repealed, and section one of chapter one hundred fifteen of the revised statutes, entitled "of the supreme court,' is hereby amended so as to read as follows: Section 1. Amended. There shall be held three terms of the supreme court in each year, to be denominated the February term, the June term and the October term. The February term Time and place shall commence on the first Tuesday of February in terms. each year and shall be held at the supreme court room in the city of Madison; the June term shall commence on the first Tuesday of June in each year and shall be held at the court house in the city of Milwaukee, or such other place as may be provided in the city of Milwaukee for that purpose; the October term shall commence on the first Tuesday of October in each year and shall be held at the court house in the city of Oshkosh, or at such other place in said city as may be provided for that purpose.

SECTION 2. SECTION 3. The boards of supervisors of the counties of Winnebago and Milwaukee are hereby authorized to furnish suitable rooms, other than the court house, in their respective counties for the use of the court for the terms appointed to be held in such counties. The said court is hereby authorized to hold the terms thereof in such rooms as shall be so provided.

SECTION 5. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after the first day of May next, and all writs, process and proceedings made before this act is in force, returnable to the September term of said court, shall be deemed and taken to be returnable to the June term. CHAPTER 50.

AN ACT to repeal section one of chapter 111 of the general laws of 1867 entitled "an act to amend certain sections of chapter 155 of the general laws of 1863, entitled 'an act to codify the laws relating to common schools.'"

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly do enact as follows:

SECTION 1. Section one of chapter 111 of the ge eral laws of 1867 is hereby repealed, and section one. of chapter 155 of the general laws of 1863, to which said act is amendatory, is hereby declared to be in full force and effect.

SECTION 2. Section one of chapter 155 of the general laws of 1863 is hereby amended so as to read as follows: Section 1. The board of supervisors in each town in this state shall have power to form and alter school districts in the manner hereinafter set forth: provided, that no school district can or shall embrace more than thirty-six square miles of land.

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:

AN ACT to amend chapter 133 of the general laws of 1863, relating to the laying out of highways.

SECTION 1. Section one of chapter 133 of the gen- Amended. eral laws of 1863 is hereby amended so as to read as follows; "Section 1. The county board of supervisors of each county shall be commissioners to lay out, survey and establish highways extending through or into two or more towns, or along and near the town line between two or more towns in such county."

SECTION 2. Section two of chapter 133 of the gen- ria. eral laws of 1863 is hereby amended so as to read as follows: "Section 2. Upon petition of not less than thirty resident freeholders, and not less than fifteen from each town through or into which, or along and near to the line of which it is proposed to lay such highway, praying the laying out, surveying and establishing of a public highway extending into or through, or along and near to the line between at least two of the towns of such county, the said board of supervisors shall proceed to lay out, survey and establish such highway, if in their opinion the public good will be thereby promoted."

SECTION 3. Section three of chapter 133 of the general laws of 1863, is hereby amended by inserting after the word " through," in the last line but one of said section and before the word "which," in the same line, the words " or along and near to the line of."

SECTION 4. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication. Approved February 29, 1863.

CHAPTER 52.

AN ACT to amend chapter 491 of the general laws of 1865, entitled "an act to confer jurisdiction on the county court of Outagamie county."

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:

SECTION 1. Section 14 of chapter 491 of the general laws of 1865, entitled "an act to confer jurisdiction on the county court of Outagamie county," is hereby amended so as to read as follows: "Section 14. There shall be held at the county seat of the said Outagamie county, four terms of said court in each year, viz: on the first Monday of April, the first Monday of July, the first Monday of October and the fourth Monday of December in each year.'

SECTION 2. Section 20 of said chapter 491 is hereby amended so as to read as follows: "Section 20. The said county judge shall receive a salary of five hundred dollars per annum, to be paid quarterly out of the county treasury.'

SECTION 3. So much of chapter 491 of the general laws of 1866 [1865] as conflicts with the provisions of this act is hereby repealed.
