GENERAL LAWS.

CHAPTER 1.

AN ACT to provide for the purchase of two hundred copies of

Webster's unabridged dictionary.

How distributed.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate

and assembly, do enact as follows :

SECTION 1. The state superintendent of public in. May purchase struction is hereby authorized to purchase on behalf Webster's dic

tionary. of the state, two hundred copies of Webster's unabridged dictionary, at a cost not to exceed eight dollars per copy.

SECTION 2. Such dictionaries when obtained shall be distributed to the school districts of this state in accordance with the provisions of chapter sixteen and chapter thirty-two of the general laws of 1867.

SECTION 3. There is hereby appropriated out of the How to be paid income of the school fund, a sum of money sufficient for.

for the dictionaries provided for in this act, and the state superintendent shall certify to the secretary of state the amount of such expenditure.

SECTION 4. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.

AN ACT to repeal sections one and two of chapter 44, of the laws

of 1866, entitled an act to limit the number of officers and em. ployees of the legislature.'

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate

and assembly, do enact as follows:

Repealed.

SECTION 1. Sections one and two of chapter 44 of the laws of 1866, (an act) entitled "an act to limit the number of officers and employees of the legislature is hereby repealed.

SECTION 2. This act sball take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

Approved January 24, 1868.

CHAPTER 3.

[Published January 25, 1868.)

AN AOT to repeal chapter 37 of the general laws of 1867, entitled

an act to amend section one of chapter 364, of the general laws of 1865," entitled "an act for the encouragement and protection of the wool growing interests of this State.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate

and assembly, do enact as follows:

Repealed.

SECTION 1. Chapter 364 of the laws of 1865, entitled "an act for the encouragement and protection of the wool growing interest in this state," and all acts amendatory thereof, are hereby repealed.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
