I--The following is published for the information and guidance of all concerned:

An error having been made in the Executive Order, dated May 29, 1903, reserving and setting apart for military purposes a tract of land situated at Malabang, in the island of Mindanao, Philippine Islands, containing about 2,800 acres (General Orders, No. 86, Headquarters of the Army, Adjutant General's Office, Washington, June 19, 1903)-said error being the omission of the course running south from the northeast corner-the said order is, by direction of the President, amended so as to include all public lands within metes and bounds as follows, viz:

Starting from a post marked SW. corner U. S. Military Reservation on the beach on south shore and at the mouth of Malabang River (the same being the stream rising in the springs near the stone fort): thence running north a distance of 2,414 meters, 2 centimeters, or 1 miles, to a post marked NW. corner; thence running east a distance of 3,218 meters, 70 centimeters, or 2 miles, to a post marked NE. corner; thence running south a distance of 3,218 meters, 70 centimeters, or 2 miles, to a post; thence running south 30° west a distance of 2,340 meters. 80 centimeters, or 7,680 feet, to a post on beach marked S. on corner; thence along said beach and shore to the place of starting. All of said measurements being more or less, and all of said bearings being true bearings, the magnetic bearing being approximately 1° 15' east therefrom and about stationary.

II. Nothing in paragraphs 4 and 11 of General Orders, No. 109, War Department, June 20, 1904, shall be construed as affecting the accountability of post ordnance officers for property, such as targets and target material for small arms practice, ammunition and spare parts for small arms, or other property which does not pertain to the armament, nor the accountability of the commanding officers of organizations stationed at seacoast forts for strictly company, troop, or field battery material.

Property that has been transferred contrary to this interpretation of the order in question will be retransferred to the proper officer.

Battery Erasmus Keyes, in honor of Major General Erasmus D. Keyes, U.S.Volunteers (colonel, 11th U. S. Infantry), who served with distinction during the civil war, and who died October 14, 1895.

ON THE FORT PREBLE, MAINE, MILITARY RESERVATION.

Battery Philip Mason, in honor of 1st Lieutenant Philip D. Mason, 1st U. S. Artillery, who died July 18, 1864, of wounds received in action at Trevillian Station. Virginia. June 11, 1864.

Battery John Rirardi, in honor of Major John J. U. Rivardi, 1st Artillerists and Engineers, who served from 1795 to 1802, and who died January 4, 1808.
