M'Couy, Esq. counsellor at law, was appointed vice chancellor of the first cir cuit on the 18th of March, 1831, pursuant to a statute authorizing such an appointment, and entered upon the duties of his office on the 1st of May thereafter. + CHARLES H. RUGGLES, Counsellor at law, was appointed judge of the second circuit on the 15th of March, 1831, in the place of the Hon. JAMES EMOTT, whose constitutional term of office had expired. JAMES VANDERPOEL, counsellor at law, was appointed judge of the third circuit on the 12th day of January, in the place of the Hon. William A. Duer, who resigned his office on receiving the appointment of president of Columbia college, in the city of New-York. § ROBERT MONELL, counsellor at law, was appointed judge of the sixth circuit on the 2d of March, 1831, in the place of the Hon. Samuel Nelson, appointed one of the justices of the supreme court. |
