No. 33.-Comparative summary of the Values of IMPORTED MERCHANDISE entered for CONSUMPTION in the United States, with the amounts of duty received on the same, during the Fiscal Years ended June 30, from 1867 to 1881, inclusive.

a Articles subject to a discriminating duty only, are classed in the statements of imported merchandise, under the head of "free of duty.'

b These totals do not include the values: (1) of imported commodities withdrawn from warehouse and transferred to manufacturing warehouses; (2) of imported materials withdrawn from warehouse for consumption, and use in the construction and equipment of vessels; (3) of imported salt withdrawn from warehouse for curing fish (see statements Nos. 27, 28, and 29). These amounts should be added to make the entire value of withdrawals from warehouse for consumption.
