[Fiat infertio.] In confequence of all which, his Majefty the King of Denmark accedes by virtue of the prefent act, to the faid convention, and. to the faid feparate and additional articles, fuch as they are herein before tranfcribed, without any exception or referve, declaring and promifing to fulfil all the claufes, conditions, and obligations thereof, as far as regards himself; and his Majesty the King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland accepts the prefent acceffion of his Danith Majetty, and in like manner promifes, on his part, to fulfil all the articles, claufes, and conditions contained in the faid convention, and the separate and additional articles herein before inferted, without any exception or referve. The ratifications of the prefent act of acceffion and acceptance fhall be exchanged in the space of two months, or fooner if poffible; and the ftipulations of the faid convention shall, at the fame time, be carried into execution as fpeedily as poffible, regard being had to the full and entire re-establishment of the state of things, fuch as it was before the period of the misunderstandings, which are now fo happily terminated. HIS Majefty the King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, and his Majefty the Emperor of all the Ruffias, : having terminated, by a convention, concluded at St. Petersburgh the June 1801, the differences which had arifen between them. refpecting the rights of neutral navigation in time of war, and his Majesty the King of Sweden, equally induced by the defire of removing and conciliating the diffenfions which exifted on the fame fubject between his Britannic Majefty and himself, having confented, in confequence of the invitation that has been made to him, to accede to the above-mentioned convention; their faid Majefties have chofen and named as their plenipotentiaries to this effect, viz. his Majefty, the King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain' and Ireland, Alleyne Lord Baron St. Helens, peer of the faid United Kingdom, one of his Majesty's most honourable.. Privy Council, and his ambassador extraordinary and minifter plenipotentiary to his Majesty the Emperor of all the Ruffias; and his Majesty the King of Sweden, the Sieur Baron Louis Bogiflas Christopher Court de Stedingk, one of the lords of the kingdom of Sweden, his ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to his Imperial Majefty of all the Ruffias, lieutenant-general of his armies, chamberlain, knight and commander of his orders, knight of the Ruffian Order of St. Andrew, knight Grand Crofs of his Order of the Sword, knight of those of Ruffia, of St. Alexander Newsky, and of St. Anne of the first class, and knight of the French Order of Military Merit; who, after having exchanged their full powers, found to be in good and due form, have concluded and agreed upon what follows: Art. I. His Majefty the King of Sweden accedes by the prefent tranfaction with his Majefty the King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, to the convention which was concluded between his faid Majefty and the Emperor of all the Ruffias, the June 1801, as well as to the firft separate article annexed thereto, and to the additional ones, concluded on the 20 October 1801, promifing and engaging to obferve and fulfil all the ftipulations, claufes, and articles therein contained, in the fame manner as if his Majesty had been a principal contracting party thereto, save and except the differences which refult from the tenour of the treaties and engagements exifting between England and Sweden, and which are to be renewed and confirmed in virtue of the aforefaid convention. II. His Majesty the King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, acknowledges on his fide, his Majefty the King of Sweden as a contracting party in the convention concluded at St. Petersburgh the June 1801, and binds himself in the moft formal manner to obferve, execute, and fulfil, to their utmost extent, in whatever regards his faid Majefty, the ftipulations, claufes, and articles of the faid convention, and of the faid first Separate article, and of the additional ones; fave and except the differences which refult from the tenour of the treaties and engagements existing between England and Sweden, and which are to be renewed and confirmed in virtue of the aforefaid convention. III. It is agreed that the adjudication, in the laft refort of caufes in litigation, which, according to the fecond article of the aforefaid additional articles, are to be brought by appeal before his Majelly's Privy Council in Great Britain, and before the Directing Senate in Ruffia, fhall, in Sweden, be brought by appeal before the Supreme Tribunal, in Swedish Hôgfta Domstolen. IV. In order to prevent any inaccuracy, it has been agreed that. the faid convention, as well as the faid feparate and additional articles, fhould be inferted here word for word, and as follows: Fiat. I ENCLOSE two letters from Captain Sir Richard Strachan, Bart. detailing particulars of the meritorious exertions of himself, and the officers under his command, in intercepting the enemy's fupplies. I HAVE the honour to inform you, that the veffels you signalled us to chafe, on the 6th inftant, never came through the paffage, but rowed up along fhore again, and went under Fort Lomara; I watched for thein all night, but in the morning feeing them no more, I left the Lurcher off the Morbihan, and proceeded to execute your farther orders; on that day I faw a convoy courfing round Croifiq, of fifteen or fixteen fail, but was in no hurry to chafe, rather permitting them to get nearer to St. Gildas, and in the evening stood out, and made the neceffary fignals to Mr. Forbes; it fully answered my expectations, as he being to windward, turned them all, and they made for the Vilain, juft where I was. About eight we took a small one, just as the battery of St. Jacques was hailing us, which I immediately manned, and fent her with our own boat along fhore, and by four A. M. found ourselves in poffeffion of five more; this is all they could attempt, as the whole coafts were then alarmed, and the battery of Notre Dame, at the entrance of the river Peners, kept up fo brisk a fire as to fend three fhot through the last veffel; but the fpirit of our people was fuch, that they were determined to have her out, and unluckily one man was flightly fcratched with a fplinter. On joining the Lurcher in the morning, I found fhe had got three more, making nine, the particulars of which are expreffed in the adjoined lift: the four largeft are decked, VOL. Extract of a Letter from Captain Rowley Bulteel, Commander of his Majefty's Ship Belliqueux, to Evan Nepean, Efq.; dated at Rio Janeiro, the 24th August 1800. ON Monday the 4th day of Auguft, foon after daylight, four fail were difcovered from the maft-head in the north-weft quarter, and apparently fteering about N. by E. At feven A. M. they hauled their wind, tacked, and flood towards us, upon which I bore down with the whole of my convoy: at noon the enemy perceived our force (which was greatly exaggerated in their opinion by the warlike appearance of the China fhips); they bore up under a prefs of fail, and by fignal feparated.
