ROADS AND HIGHWAYS

OFFENSES.

AN ACT

TO PREVENT PERSONS FROM FLOWING WATER OR ALLOW-
ING WATER TO FLOW UPON PUBLIC ROADS AND HIGH-
WAYS, AND FIXING THE PUNISHMENT THEREFOR.

Be It Enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado:

CHAPTER 142.

ROADS AND HIGHWAYS

ROAD SIGNS.

AN ACT

TO REGULATE ROAD SIGNS.

Uniform system of road signs.

Removal of signs not complying with regulations.

Be It Enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado:

Section 1. The State Highway Commissioner and Advisory Board shall have full power and authority to prescribe rules and regulations for a uniform system of road signs on state highways, and when such rules are adopted it shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to place or maintain road signs of any kind on the state highways, not conforming to such rules and regulations.

Sec. 2. Said Commissioner and Advisory Board shall have power to require all persons placing or maintaining road signs of any kind on any state highway which do not conform to such rules and regulations, to remove the same, and if such persons do not comply with such require ment the State Highway Commissioner shall have power to remove such road signs.

Sec. 3. The board of county commissioners of the various counties of the state shall, upon request of the State Highway Commissioner and Advisory Board, forthwith remove all road signs from the state highways within their respective counties not complying with such rules and regulations.

Sec. 4. Any person or persons or corporation who places or maintains any road sign on any state highway in violation of this act, shall, on conviction thereof, be punished by a fine of not less than fifteen dollars nor more than fifty dollars, or imprisonment in the county jail for not more than thirty days in the discretion of the court.

Sec. 5. Any person, persons or corporations who injure or deface or destroy any road sign placed on any state highway under the provisions of this act, shall on conviction thereof, be punished by a fine of not less than fifteen dollars, nor more than fifty dollars in the discretion of the court.

Sec. 6. Justices of the peace and all courts of record Jurisdiction having jurisdiction of misdemeanors shall have jurisdiction to try any case arising from the violation of this act or any provision thereof.

CHAPTER 143.

TAX LEVY FOR STATE ROAD FUND.

Act supplemental to act of 1913.

AN ACT

TO SECURE BETTER HIGHWAYS BY INCREASING THE STATE
ROAD FUND BY AN ANNUAL HALF MILL LEVY.

Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Colorado:

Section 1. There is hereby recognized and perpetu ated the fund heretofore established for the purpose of state aid in the construction, maintenance and repair of public highways, and known as the State Road Fund; and for the purpose of securing better highways by increasing the said fund, there shall be assessed and levied annually upon all taxable property in this state one-half of one mill on each dollar of assessed valuation thereof, to be assessed and collected at the same time and in the same manner now provided for the assessment and collection of state taxes from other fractional mill levies now established by law.

Sec. 2. It is hereby expressly declared that this act is supplemental to and amendatory of the State Highway Commission Act, approved March 17, 1913.

SCHOOLS

SCHOOL DISTRICTS-DISTRICT BONDS.

AN ACT

TO AMEND SECTION 11 OF CHAPTER 205 OF THE SESSION
LAWS OF 1909, APPROVED APRIL 8, 1909, ENTITLED "AN
ACT TO ENABLE SCHOOL DISTRICTS OF THIS STATE TO
CONTRACT A BONDED INDEBTEDNESS FOR THE PUR-
POSE OF ERECTING AND FURNISHING SCHOOL BUILD-
INGS, PURCHASING GROUNDS AND FUNDING DEBTS, AND
TO REPEAL ALL ACTS AND PARTS OF ACTS IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH."

Be It Enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado:

Section 1. That section 11, of chapter 205 of the Session Laws of 1909 of the State of Colorado, the same being 'An Act to Enable School Districts of this State to Contract a Bonded Indebtedness for the Purpose of Erecting and Furnishing School Buildings, Purchasing Grounds and Funding Debts, and to Repeal All Acts and Parts of Acts in Conflict Herewith," approved April 8, 1909, be amended to read as follows:

Section 11. Whenever the board of directors of any school district shall issue bonds under the provisions of this act, they shall enter in and upon the records of such board an order requesting the county clerk and recorder of the county, wherein such school district is situate, to register the bonds in a book to be kept by him for that purpose, and when so registered, the legality thereof
