The Pathfinder James Fenimore Cooper was one of the greatest American writers of the early 19th century. Cooper was a very prolific author and he was best known for his historical romance novels covering the American frontier and Indian life. Cooper's most famous novels, including The Last of the Mohicans, form The Leatherstocking Tales.The Pathfinder, published in 1840, is chronologically the third novel of the Leatherstocking Tales. The action continues to follow Natty Bumppo as he guides damsels through the woods. |
