The Bacon Shakespeare Question 1888

1888. The author states the great Shakespearean scholars consider it beneath themselves to answer the assertions of the Baconians. Silence may be golden in defense of the living, but in regard to the dead, speech is golden when it answer speech, and proof, when it contests proof. This book is the result of two years' studies by the author. It is hoped this work may help turn the balance of opinion in some wavering minds, or to aid some Shakespeareans to reconsider this subject justly.
