THE WOMAN'S AUXILIARY

TO THE

Vermont Dairymen's Association.

At the suggestion of President H. M. Arms of the Dairymen's Association a number of ladies interested in the dairy industries of Vermont met in the Van Ness House parlors, Burlington January 10, at 9 A. M., and organized as the “ Woman's Auxiliary to the Vermont Dairymen's Association." After adopting a preamble and constitution, and signing the same, the society elected the following officers for the ensuing year: President, Mrs. Luna S. Peck, Brookfield; vice president, Mrs. C. F. Smith, Morrisville; secretary, Mrs. L. R. Jones, Burlington. The meeting was then adjourned to Thursday, January 11, at 2 P. M.

THURSDAY AFTERNOON.

The meeting was called to order at 2 P. M. by the president. A committee was appointed, consisting of the officers of the society, to . prepare a programme for the next meeting. A half day's session in connection with each annual meeting of the Dairymen's Association was proposed to be held, the time being subject to the plan of their programme. The meeting was then adjourned to such time as might be appointed.

PREAMBLE,

WHEREAS, The women of Vermont are personally interested in the carrying on and the up-building of the leading industry of the state; and

WHEREAS, There are matters pertaining to her especial department, that cannot be well or profitably discussed in a mixed assembly; therefore

RESOLVED, That we, the present delegation of the women of Vermont, hereby form an association, whose object shall be the discussion and considera

tion of dairying, and of such other topics relating to our work as may properly come before it.

RESOLVED, That this Association shall be called the Woman's Auxiliary to the Vermont Dairymen's Association.

CONSTITUTION.

Any woman of good moral character, interested in the principles underlying this Association, shall be eligible to membership therein by subscribing to this Constitution.

The officers of this Association shall consist of a president, whose duty shall be to preside over the meetings;

A vice president, who shall preside in the absence of the president;

A secretary, who shall prepare and keep a record of the meetings of the Association.

This Constitution may be amended by a two-thirds vote of all the members present.
